GENEA Initiative: The GENEA (Generation and Evaluation of Non-verbal Behaviour for Embodied Agents) Initiative brings together an interdisciplinary community to advance the synthesis and evaluation of non-verbal behaviours such as gesticulation, facial expressions, and gaze for virtual agents and social robots. Since 2020, GENEA has organized annual workshops (at ICMI, IVA, and ACM Multimedia), gesture-generation challenges with large-scale user studies, and a continuous leaderboard, establishing shared benchmarks and promoting reproducibility in the field.
